* A rate of $280/hr is available for students who purchase a 10hr block of lessons for VFR training.  Both rates include aircraft fuel.  There are no hidden fuel surcharges.

 

** Hi-Tech has a comprehensive insurance policy that offers the student and renter pilot very good coverage, something very few other schools offer. 

 

All prices are effective from February 1, 2008 and are in US currency. Hi-Tech Helicopters reserves the right to adjust prices as necessary without prior notice.

 

Unless stated otherwise each program is based on the minimum flight requirements stipulated by the FAA.  The total cost of each course can vary significantly and depends upon the student’s personal abilities, initiative, desire to learn, home study, and frequency of training.

Financing Options

 

Today’s civilian trained helicopter pilot generally has two loan options.  The first is private unsecured loans from lenders such as Sallie Mae, Wells Fargo, or Chase.  Repayment terms can be quite flexible but interest rates are often higher than secured loans.

 

The second option is to coordinate one’s flight training with an associates  or bachelors degree in Aviation Science or similar degree.  This enables the student to procure federally subsidized loans often at a lower interest rate than private unsecured loans.  This dramatically increases available lenders to the prospective student.  These programs are sometimes offered through local community colleges but most popularly through online schools.  The most popular school to offer this program nationwide is Utah Valley State College (UVSC).
