Hi-Tech Helicopters, Inc., now has a second location at the Elkin Municipal Airport, Elkin, North Carolina. This general aviation airport covers 91 acres and has one runway. Managed by Steve Shore, the airport is located in the rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Elkin, in the southwest corner of Surry County, adjoins both Yadkin and Wilkes Counties.

Elkin is located off of I-77, which provides access to I-40 and I-85 to the south, and I-81 to the North heading to Virginia. The US-21 bypasses the towns and US-421 is 10 minutes south. NC Highway 268 and NC-67 also pass through the region.

Elkin is approximately 85 miles north of Charlotte and 50 miles west of Winston-Salem. The Greensboro airport is 65 miles away and Charlotte’s Douglas International Airport is a 1-½ hour trip.

The Elkin Municipal Airport has a 4,000-foot runway for private aviation service for local communities.
